CHT-BeauSil™ Silicone Waxes

Silicone waxes are pendant-modified alkyl silicone polymers that combine the solubility and strong intramolecular interactions of hydrocarbons with the smooth slip of siloxanes. The alkyl component length (typically between 8-24 carbon units) and density on the backbone dictates the melting point and liquidity of these hybrid siloxanes. In personal care, silicone waxes offer a silky softness, skin emollience and ability to combine and deliver natural actives into final formulations. Silicone waxes can deliver the following attributes to a variety of formulations:

Self-leveling with ultralow surface tension
Improved slip
Inert chemical nature
Good chemical resistance
Temperature resistant
Liquid to solid at room temperature
Mar resistance
Lubricating
Non-yellowing textile softening
Compatibilizer when combining typical silicones with organics
